About Minnesota Women In Film & Television
The Minnesota chapter of WIFT was formally established in 2005. It joins over 40 other Women in Film chapters with 10,000 global members. Locally we are a growing, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of members who work in film, television, and new media in Minnesota. Our goals are to educate, empower, engage, and support women in these industries. In the process, we have fun sharing ideas and connections, creating momentum that benefits careers.
We can’t wait to

Our Mission
Minnesota Women in Film and Television (MN WIFT) is an all-gender inclusive organization that aims to educate, connect, and uplift women and non-binary people working in the greater Minnesota film industry. Through fostering a collaborative culture, our organization helps create more opportunities for building community and equitable film sets.
Values
At MN WIFT, we believe in the transformative power of storytelling and the importance of uplifting voices that have too often been overlooked. Our values are rooted in three guiding principles:
Voice
We champion the voices of women and non-binary individuals in film, television, and media. Whether through creative expression, advocacy, or leadership, we create spaces where members can speak boldly and be heard.
Visibility
We work to ensure our members are seen—on set, in the writers’ room, behind the camera, and beyond. By offering networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, we increase access and spotlight the incredible talent within our community.
Validation
We recognize the value of every member’s journey. Through support, encouragement, and shared experience, we foster a culture where individuals feel affirmed in their work, their identities, and their contributions to the industry.
Together, these values guide our mission to build a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered creative community in Minnesota and beyond.
